FIT2015 Quarknet Week two

What did you do this week?:
1. The Majority of this week will be used to fine tune and adjust the paddles. We will be down loading the EQUIP Java Interface and checking rate counts, performance studies, voltage adjustments and flux studies. 2. We also started a wordpress webpage: Quarknetfit2015.wordpress.Com 3. We also had a vidyo conference with Ken Cecire, Martin Shaffer, and Geri Gemmelsbacher we identify problem areas.
Why did you do that?:
1. After collecting data from week one we wanted more confidence in the equipment. We also wanted to Identify bad equipment to prevent future use and wasted time. 2. Wordpress website for FIT2015 was created to make digital logbook that can be accessed by many students over the next couple of years. In the event of a lost logbook the website along with the quarknet reports can serve a good reference tool. 3. The vidyo conference was created to get us updated to the new software and terminology used by quarknet.
What are you doing next?:
1. Now that the paddles and cables are working correctly, we can better perform Muon experiments and projects aimed at a deeper understanding of particle physics and Muons. 2. If the two systems are set correctly with rates and performance, we should be able to get identical counts from the systems. this was something that will determine reliability of the systems. 3. The Wordpress will be updated on a daily basis with project projections and corrections
Why are you doing that?:
1. We can better perform Muon experiments and projects aimed at a deeper understanding of particle physics and Muons. 2.This will allow us to clearly identify the functionality of the equipment. 3. Wordpress will act a good tool for future use and reference.
