      Student Hat: What careers can you pursue with a bachelor's degree in physics? (Use post-it notes.)
    • Task 2 (Shane) - Student Hat ​​​​
      • Complete Career Goals Survey - Read one profile of a physicist who was a match with you on Survey. In addition, read one other profile of a physicist from complete list of profiles (scroll down). Perhaps challenge yourself to look for one that is surprising. 
      • Full group Discussion: Hear a few examples...any surprises?
      • Present Physics Careers & Salaries slides
      • Discussion: What caught your eye? (Any surprises?) Comments on...job security? ...job satisfaction? ...physics applications in other fields? ...salaries? ...on jobs that can benefit others?
    • Task 3 (Mike) - Teacher Hat
    • Task 4 (Shane) - Teacher Hat - start thinking implementation
      • Divide into small groups
      • Answer these questions (Word, pdf).
      • Large group discussion.
  • BEGIN Changing the Culture.
    • Read through poster.
    • Discuss and answer these questions on poster. OR...Operationally...what does this look like regarding student behavior? What can you as the teacher do to foster an environment that supports these guidelines? Be ready to present. 

Wednesday Afternoon

  • Register for stepup (Mike) and tour of websites (Mike - STEP UP; Shane - QuarkNet)
  • Intro with google search (Shane) - DO
  • Read a biography about women physicist - POINT OUT; can be done as H/W (Shane)
  • Changing the Culture Poster - we have an activity for that! (Shane)
  • Give Overview of Student Task with Teacher Hat:  Use Mike's ppt (Mike)
  • Student Hat:  Go through select activity in groups and have groups present
