Week 2 Report FIT

What did you do this week?:
This week we built a Faraday cage to use in our project studying muon counts in an electric field. We tested 3 paddles in the Faraday cage and noticed it was effective. For my individual project, I continued collecting data and measuring lunar phases. I also created a poster showcasing my data and research.
Why did you do that?:
We created the Faraday cage to see if when placed by a plasma ball or other electric field, if the muon readings changed. When the plasma ball was placed near the Faraday cage (with the paddles in it), the muon counts were consistent.
What are you doing next?:
Next we will be doing a series of test (plasma ball on, faraday cage with paddles in it, plasma ball off, etc) to see what things create a electric field and how that affects the muons. I will continue to collect data for my lunar project to see if the data stays consistent and/or if lunar phases do affect muon counts.
Why are you doing that?:
By doing many tests with the Faraday cage and plasma ball to get well rounded data and consistent data. I am continuing to collect data for my lunar project so that I go through all the lunar phases.
