Week 6 Report

What did you do this week?:
This week I concluded my project on ozone vs. muons. The final results showed no immediate correlations between the ozone in the atmosphere or muon counts. I updated my poster on the final results. And the first few days of the week, I uploaded some overnight data collections to quarknet. On the last day, we will spend the last few hous packing up the computers and equiptment used th=o collect the muons.
Why did you do that?:
To have people know about the conclusions I've made from this experiment, I needed to have it publicly shown. In this case it was uploading a poser to show later participants of the quarknet team.
What are you doing next?:
When the new school year starts, I will be giving a presentation to any of my science/research classes that are interested or teach part of the topic of what I did hear at quarknet. I'll talk about the project I conducted myself and I can also talk about some of the physics I learned that you might need to know about muons and other particles. I might also talk about how the equiptment works or have my teacher bring it in to class and I can show the other students or other teachers how to set it up and run it etc.
Why are you doing that?:
We are trying to increase awareness about the projects we are conducting and what quarknet is about. We want to get people intersted in the field that you need to be in to conduct theese kind of tests. To learn about what you need to know to become a particle physisist like the ones at quarknet.
