2025 Annual Report

Our group met approximately monthly on video conference and for two full days in August (Zoom).  We held Sunday evening meetings as summarized below.  We had formal talks by teachers Gregory Alley (high granularity HCal) and Sam Wheeler (CERN visit) along with guest Andrew Olivier.

Our teachers continue to be active across QuarkNet, with teachers doing double duty as Code Fellow (Megan), Cosmic Ray Fellow (Nicole), Lead Teacher (Mike - both Boston and Virtual), and help founding the new North Carolina Center (Charlie, Megan, and Sam).  And that is just QN, these are very involved people - it’s an incredible community of people!

Our annual meeting was held online this year, where we discussed special relativity under the guidance of lead teachers Mike Wadness and Megan Alvord, along with special guest Rick Dower (Boston Center lead teacher).   Discussions include how GPS works on the smart phone. QN activities such as muon speeds, muon lifetimes, and Z mass calculations.
