BNL -SB Annual Report 2025
On March 29, BNL - SB Quarknet offered a MasterClass at Stony Brook University. Two schools and 15 students participated. Dmitri Tsybychev arranged for tours and guest speakers. High school students were assisted by several physics graduate students in their analysis of ATLAS data.
The BNL - SB Quarknet Group held their annual workshop at Brookhaven National Laboratory from June 30 - July 2, 2025. This year’s workshop included five teachers, two of whom had been in the program before. There were primarily teachers from suburban Long Island schools.
The focus of the workshop was coding for use as a tool in the classroom. Ketevi Assamagan spoke about the work at BNL. Mateus Fernandes Carneiro da Silva arranged tours of the cryogenics lab. The group joined LIPTA, the Long Island Physics Teachers Association, for their annual BBQ. At the end of the workshop, teachers prepared and shared implementation plans.
