Making it ‘Round the Bend - Qualitative
Students explore the effects of electric and magnetic fields on particles.
Students use online animations that show how charged particles can be accelerated and their paths deflected. By experimenting with these effects in the simulation, they can draw conclusions about these interactions. The qualitative version of this activity is avoids calculations and relies on drawing reasonable conclusions from careful and systematic experimentation. A quantitative version is also available.
