Spotlight on the Leadership Fellows
The Leadership Fellows have been a group of six mainly retired teachers who have taken on many roles to support centers over the past 12 or so years. They have worked with staff, center leaders and evaluators to help determine the needs and priorities of centers, and have worked to develop solutions to address these needs. Since 2015, they have served as the point of contact for many centers, helping to keep open lines of communication with QuarkNet Central. Many of these fellows will stay active in their local centers, and some will transfer to work with the new outside evaluator. We sincerely thank them for all their work and look forward to their continued involvement in QuarkNet. Teachers, the application form for 2019 CERN Summer Programs is now available; applications are due on January 31, 2019. Note that you must include a letter of recommendation from a mentor, supervisor, or colleague in addition to completing the form. If you have any questions, please contact Ken or Shane. You can find program descriptions here (for ITW) and here (for HST).
Is your group registered for International Masterclasses? Orientations and updates begin in February, so sign up for that masterclass now. Check the videoconference schedules for ATLAS and CMS or for MINERvA, choose a date and time, and contact Ken. Also, you can check the latest IMC circular, just out today.
